Problem

The continuous care by Tulips means working with women and children from birth to adulthood in order to break the inter-generational cycle of poor health. Nutritional deficiency cuts across all stages along the continuum of care. We ensure they are aware of the health services they need to live a healthy life.

1. 1. Prevalence of anaemia in Indian women is highest in the world
  2. Anaemia and deficiency, diseases among slum dwellers, migrants and marginalized people add to doubling of figures.
  3. Addressing women’s health between pregnancies up to the child’s second birthday which constitutes (270+365+365 =1000) sets the foundation for the rest of the life that follow.
  4. Care during pregnancy, infancy, early childhood are potential building blocks for future health
  5. Identifying, preventing and treating malnutrition
  6. System strengthening to ensure immunizations and exclusive breastfeeding
  7. Children of malnourished women are more likely to face cognitive impairments, short stature, lower resistance to infections, and a higher risk of disease and death throughout their lives

Addressing women’s malnutrition has a range of positive effects because healthy women can fulfill their multiple roles — generating income, ensuring their families’ nutrition, and having healthy children — more effectively and thereby help socioeconomic development of advancing countries.

Problem

Giving education for girl children help to identify, enroll and retain financially weak girls and to improve basic skills in literacy for all children. This helps deliver progressive results to a large number of children and avoid child labor.

1. 1. 13 million girls in India are denied secondary level education.
  2. It’s not okay with that girls in India is more likely to be married before the age of 18 than she never has access to high school – and only 18% of girls ever complete high school.
  3. Slum children of 6-13 years of age group fail to get elementary education because of situations like large family size, poor living conditions, unfavorable home conditions, and language problems, unstable occupation and economic conditions.

What We Do

Education changes everything. A social and economic transformation for all girls towards an India where all girls have equal opportunities to access quality education.

1. 1. Daily academic support through trained tutors engages the girls in concept-based learning, interactive group approach to learning. This interactive group recognizes learning as a continuous process that is distinct for each child and focuses on learning rather than teaching.
  2. An Annual Supplies Kit including a school bag, shoes, socks, stationery, inner-wear and a pullover/raincoat is provided to every girl.
  3. Partnerships with government institutions and hostels for enrollment and supportive financial and materialistic aid
  4. Partnerships with private institutions and providing scholarships to continue education for girl child.

Goal

Our goal is to improve access and quality of education for over 2 lakh children comprehensively by 2024.

Adolescents A to Z(Anaemia to zinc )

Problem

India has 250 million adolescents. Even though this part of the population has the potential to transform India, they have no basic resources to do so. They are surrounded by poor facilities such as sanitation, education and healthcare, as well as deep-rooted socio-cultural norms.

1. 1. Adolescence is the age of opportunity for health interventions. They are vulnerable nutritionally due to rapid and exponential growth.
  2. Poor hygiene and social stigma in reaching health facilities carry lifelong consequences.
  3. 40 % of adolescent girls are anemic and 24% are micro-nutrient deficient.
  4. 6 common nutrient deficiencies have long term health impacts.
  5. Prevailing health inequalities in slums, orphans, marginalized population has made a deep crater in humanity.

What we do

Tulips Foundation intends to change the brittle phase of adolescence, by creating an impact so that adolescents are safe and healthy and devoid of nutritional deficiencies.
