Problem
India has 250 million adolescents. Even though this the part of the population has the potential to transform India, they have no basic resources to do so. They are surrounded by poor facilities such as sanitation, education and healthcare, as well as deep-rooted socio-cultural norms.
- Adolescence is the age of opportunity for health interventions. They are vulnerable nutritionally due to rapid and exponential growth.
- Poor hygiene and social stigma in reaching health facilities carry lifelong consequences.
- 40% adolescent girls are anemic and 24% are micro-nutrient deficient.
- 6 common nutrient deficiencies have long term health impacts.
- Prevailing health inequalities in slums, orphans, marginalized population has made a deep crater in humanity.
What we do
Tulips Foundation intends to change the brittle phase of adolescence, by creating an in impact so that adolescents are safe and healthy and devoid of nutritional deficiencies.
Goal
By investing in adolescents, especially girls, we aspire to make multi-generational change and long term impact.
